Is one allowed to use “ma’aser money” to buy a raffle ticket for The Grand Sefer Torah Experience?

Yes, absolutely. We asked Rabbi Moshe Shaul Klein, Shlita, this question. P’sak Halacha: One may buy a raffle ticket with ma’aser money because the money is used to build shuls and other Torah-related institutions. You can watch a clip of Rabbi Moshe Shaul Klein saying so.

What does the prize include?

The prize includes:
1. A beautiful Sefer Torah, written on hand-picked Klaf by a certified Sofer who is a Yarei Shamayim.
2. The winner will receive round trip tickets to Eretz Yisrael, where they will visit holy sites and witness the writing of their Sefer Torah alongside Gedolei Yisrael who will partake in the writing of the Torah as well.
3. A grand, public Hachnosas Sefer Torah with singing and dancing from the location of the winner’s choosing.

In which k’sav will the Sefer Torah be? Can I choose the k’sav I want?

Certainly! We are prepared for different customs. It will be possible to choose the k’sav for writing the Torah from one of the following three options – Beis Yosef, Ari, or Sephardi.

Who will be the sofer who will write the Sefer Torah, and will I be able to choose the sofer?
